A gap analysis is an evaluation tool to ascertain the current state of the business versus the desired state of the business within an organization or department. The analysis provides the information that will allow an organization or department to build upon the strengths and improve upon the areas for development. CSI consultants develop a plan with recommendations for next steps based on this analysis. The plan includes specific processes that must be implemented to fill the gap. Processes could include interpersonal processes, business focus processes, communication processes, and problem solving processes, among others.
